KnowBetta (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates knowbetta.com. This page explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
What We Collect
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site — which pages get visited, how long people stay, and where traffic comes from. Google Analytics collects:
- Pages viewed and time spent on site
- Referring URLs (how you found us)
- General location (country/region, not street address)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
This data is aggregated and anonymous. We don’t see your name, email address, or anything that personally identifies you.
Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish between visitors. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On or by rejecting cookies through the consent banner on our site.
For more information on how Google handles data, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
Cookies
We use cookies for:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — to measure site traffic as described above
- Cookie consent cookie (WPConsent) — to remember your cookie preference so we don’t ask you every visit
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or retargeting. If you reject cookies through our consent banner, only the consent preference cookie is stored.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies at any time.
Contact
If you email us at [email protected], we’ll have your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this only to respond to you. We don’t add you to any mailing list or share your contact information with anyone.
What We Don’t Collect
- We don’t require accounts or registration
- We don’t collect names, addresses, or payment information
- We don’t run ads or advertising trackers
- We don’t sell or share personal data with third parties
- We don’t collect data from children knowingly (this site is not directed at children under 13)
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service that processes visitor data on this site is:
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — analytics as described above
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) — CDN and security; Cloudflare may set a cookie (
__cf_bm) for bot detection. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months (the default), then automatically deleted. We don’t maintain any other personal data stores.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Since we collect minimal data and none of it is personally identifiable, there’s usually nothing to delete — but if you have questions, email us and we’ll sort it out.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we’ll update the “last updated” date at the top. We won’t send you a notification because we don’t have your contact information (that’s kind of the point).
